Hello everyone! Christmas Day is fast approaching, and five NBA games will be played on national television. All five games will feature at least one former University of Kentucky Wildcat. Let’s take a look at who they are and what time we’ll be able to potentially see each one take the floor.
12:00pm ET on ESPN: Boston Celtics at New York Knicks. James Young has not played lately for the Celtics, picking up consecutive DNP-CDs, but he could take the floor on Christmas Day.
2:30pm ET on ABC: Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers. This rematch of the NBA Finals will be the most-anticipated and most-watched game of the day. DeAndre Liggins could check in and provide his signature tough defense for the Cavs.
5:00pm ET on ABC: Chicago Bulls at San Antonio Spurs. Rajon Rondo’s Bulls will have their hands full with the Spurs in this one, especially since Pop has decided to rest Gasol, Ginobili and Parker for the game on December 23rd, and they will be fresh.
8:00pm ET on ESPN: Minnesota Timberwolves at Oklahoma City Thunder. Karl-Anthony Towns and Enes Kanter will play in this one. When this game was scheduled, I’m sure the Timberwolves were expected to have performed much better than they have so far this season.
10:30pm ET on ESPN: Los Angeles Clippers at Los Angeles Lakers. Julius Randle welcomed a son on Friday the 23rd, and will miss that evening’s game. It’s not yet been confirmed that he will play on Christmas Day.
So there you have it, a review of the games to be played on Christmas Day. I wish you all the happiest of holidays! Merry Christmas!
University of Kentucky alumna. DeMarcus Cousins was my gateway into the NBA. Watching former Kentucky Wildcats thrive in the pros is the best.
