Hello everyone! Here comes a busy Saturday night of NBA action. Let’s find out where we could see some former Kentucky Wildcats. There’s one nationally televised game, but neither team has one of our guys, so I’ll leave that off the list. The rest of the games are available only to subscribers to NBA League Pass.

6:00pm ET on NBA League Pass: Minnesota Timberwolves at Oklahoma City Thunder. Enes Kanter and the Thunder are coming off of a scathing defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, which means that they will be in a really bad mood. You don’t want to face Russell Westbrook when he’s in a bad mood. Still, the Timberwolves pack some puppy power with Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine, so they will not go quietly into the night. This one should be fast-paced and fun.

7:00pm ET on NBA League Pass: Cleveland Cavaliers at Philadelphia 76ers. There isn’t a whole lot to say about this one. Cavs will win easily. The fun part, though, will be watching Joel Embiid battle with LeBron James for the first time. After two years of waiting, Embiid is finally getting to play, and he’s been fantastic so far. It might be worth tuning in for a bit to see how he’s holding up against the defending champions. Nerlens Noel is still out with his knee injury, and rumors are (still) swirling that he could be traded soon. Stay tuned.

7:00pm ET on NBA League Pass: Washington Wizards at Orlando Magic. John Wall’s Wizards finally won their first game, so they have that hurdle behind them. Now they’ll face Orlando. Wall will go up against Elfrid Payton and Evan Fournier, and the Magic also have an up-and-coming center in Nikola Vucevic. 2016 Slam Dunk Competition runner up Aaron Gordon should be good for a few dunks. Jodie Meeks is still day-to-day, healing from his foot injury.

7:00pm ET on NBA League Pass: Denver Nuggets at Detroit Pistons. Jamal Murray is having a really tough time right now, but his coaches and fellow players believe in him, which is fantastic. He’s been playing about 12 minutes a game so far. Fun fact: The Nuggets hired former Wildcat Chuck Hayes as Basketball Operations Associate this season.

7:00pm ET on NBA League Pass: Chicago Bulls at Indiana Pacers. The Bulls are coming off of a loss to the Knicks, so look for Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler to be fired up. These guys hate losing. Rondo also had less assists vs. the Knicks than what we’re used to seeing from him, so I count on him to get at least 10 against the Pacers.

7:30pm ET on NBA League Pass: Houston Rockets at Atlanta Hawks. Kyle Wiltjer has played in just two out of the Rockets’ five games, but he is active, so he could check in. Clint Capela will bang around in the paint with Dwight Howard, who left the Rockets and signed with the Hawks during the offseason. The drama between Dwight and the Rockets will be what folks talk about when they tune in to this game.

8:00pm ET on NBA League Pass: Sacramento Kings at Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks will be ready for DeMarcus Cousins and Willie Cauley-Stein, sending out Giannis Antetokounmpo and Miles Plumlee to battle in the lane. This should be a fun game; Giannis, or the “Greek Freak,” is who draws most average fans in to watching the Bucks, with his baby-hooks and dunks. I look forward to seeing what DeMarcus and Willie will have in store. Skal Labissiere has not played in any regular season games, so it is my assumption that we will not see him on the floor tonight.

There you have it, a busy evening of early tipoffs in the NBA. Enjoy!

University of Kentucky alumna. DeMarcus Cousins was my gateway into the NBA. Watching former Kentucky Wildcats thrive in the pros is the best.
